Stone thrones on sanitas

Did a short hike up the goat trail (trailhead at far west end of Hawthorne st) Sunday afternoon and then a bit up the sanitas trail.  There is a spot not too far up the switchbacks at the end of the wide valley trail where the main trail takes a sharp turn and a pretty clear trail continues on.  I followed it and it dead ends about 100 feet on – and as a nice surprise has 4 or 5 very comfy stone seats built out of stone slabs.  The main one is reminiscent of a throne. Apparently stone slab leftovers from when the area was quarried for stone for the CU campus.  Super cool, I sat in the largest one and enjoyed immensely the view of Boulder and Denver and all in between.  Really cool spot to hang out solo or with friends.
