Ev and I rolled out of the house Saturday morning with a vague idea of what we were up to. Our main task was to take the westy to a shop to get her fixed. No luck but we did find a used bike ebay store and wandered inside, turns out to be the biggest ebay bike shop on the world. No strider bikes but they sent us to “childish things” a used kids stuff store, where we wandered and played with toys, tried on shoes, ev and I trying on the same pairs of kid size 5s and 6s, pretty funny ev thought. Then she played with toys and we wandered outside and got her on a strider bike, she didn’t dig it – may go unorthodox and go straight to pedals. We were told walnut cafe was awesome, so we walked next door and got some breakfast, ev pundits down a giant mucked mouse pancake topped with chocolate chips and whipped cream… not cool dad but she was happy. We sat outdoors, south facing and they had blankets to complement the hot-for-late-november sun. Really friendly staff, great food, cool fellow patrons, mountain view.
Next we did a short hike a little ways up settlers park on the red rocks trail. Didn’t get far but ev got to do one of her favorite activities, rock climbing.
Then we headed home and picked up the rest of the fam and walked to the rec center for some swim time and big eater slide action.
Hope that’s some inspiration to get out and have some fun!
